Just a mother

Author's name: Roy Yakobendar Publisher: Mamdouh Adwan for Publishing and Distribution Year of publication: 2025 Literary classification: Novel Brief about the book: Titled sarcastically "Just a Mother" "Roy Yakobsen" exposes the harsh judgments of Norwegian society towards women after wars and belittling them. This novel is not about the war itself, but about what the war leaves behind: children without parents, ostracized women, and communities that pass judgments mercilessly, and amidst all this Ingrid emerges as a mother, turning shame into care, rejection into inclusion and warmth, and facing the world with a silence not devoid of strength. By raising children she did not give birth to, "Ingrid" is not "just a mother" but much more than that.
