Weathering Heights

Author's name: Emily Brontë Wuthering Heights is Emily Brontë's only novel, and without doubt one of the masterpieces of English literature. Critics have regarded it as one of the most beautiful and powerful love stories of all time. And because it is a story of love and revenge, this exciting and lively novel depicts a deep and destructive love that unites the two main characters, Catherine, the fierce and stubborn, and Heathcliff, the handsome dark-skinned and impulsive, both characterized by wildness just like the moors of Yorkshire where the events of the novel take place. Being one of the greatest literary works in history, this forbidden love story still retains its ability to thrill and influence today, just as it did when published in 1847. It deals with human themes such as love, hatred, selfishness, cruelty, obsession, revenge... and the always complex nature of love. * * * "Emily Brontë offered a contemplative look at a world torn apart by chaos and sensed within her the ability to gather her fragments through writing. And this great ambition can be felt through the pages of the novel."
