Brief about the book: This novel depicts images of human and social injustice experienced by a group of people, especially in informal areas, in a style that keeps the reader in constant anticipation of what will happen, through the struggle of one middle-class family whose father died. The mother bore the responsibility of a family consisting of two sons and a girl of reproductive age who helps her sew clothes and make tobacco rolls for a small factory, while the teenage son works in a small car workshop. Thus, the events revolve around the members of that family and their friends.
Class struggle: The author in this novel presented many characters representing the class struggle among three groups; the marginalized, who do their best to adapt to the life imposed on them, the opportunists who try to exploit these people to gain wealth, and the corrupt wealthy politicians who work to buy voters' votes by various means.
The novel also discusses the phenomenon of informal areas and the negatives resulting from them; it has even come to occupy a large part of the minds of decision-makers, social scientists, and politicians, especially when linking these marginalized areas with the rise of terrorism of all kinds.
