Woman

Author's name: Annie Ernaux Publisher: Jamal Publications for Publishing and Distribution Year of publication: 2019 Literary classification: Novel Brief about the book: Woman by Annie Ernaux ... This book is not a biography, nor a novel of course. Perhaps it is something between literature, sociology, and history. It was necessary for my mother, who was born in a oppressed middle that she always wished to escape from, to turn into history so that I could feel less alone and less burdened in the oppressive world of words and ideas, which I moved to at her wish. I will not hear her voice again. She, her words, her hands, her movements, her style of laughter and her walk, were the ones who unified the woman I am today with the girl I used to be in the past. With her death, I lost the last link between me and the world I came from.
