Author's name: Hassan Matlak Publisher: A joint work between Al-Rafidain and Takween for Publishing and Distribution Year of publication: 2024 Literary classification: Diaries and Poems Brief about the book: These are two works in one book, united by personal disclosure and writing style which the author prefers to call (Free writing) and sometimes (Free flashes). The first work, "The Eye Inside," includes most of the diaries of the late Iraqi writer Hassan Matlak (1961–1990), the author of the well-known novels "Dabada" and "The Power of Laughter in Aura." Alongside the diaries of love in his work "The Book of Love... Their Shadows on the Ground," it represents a different form of diaries, because it does not seek to archive the details of prevailing daily routine life, but rather reads its reflected results on the self preoccupied with sensing the meaning of its existence... through a narrative style and poetic language filled with beauty and sincere confrontation of the self, and consequently the nature of confronting the world, he says: "When the eye is inward; it reflects the image of the world." While the second book includes all of Hassan Matlak's poems, including his simple early thoughts, in a single collection titled "Masks... Me, You, and the Country." His brother, Dr. Mohsen Matlak Ramli, compiled, prepared, and edited these two works from the late author's manuscripts, adding some footnotes to the first and a comprehensive introduction to the second.
