Product description

The history teacher leaves the land of Africa at a scientific symposium in Yemen, and finds there an opportunity to meet one of the Shiite mystics and understand what was difficult for him to grasp from a treasure he found in an ancient grave. The shock from the buried secret is enormous: it is the psalms of the Mountain Sheikh, the dweller of the eagle's nest, Hassan al-Sabbah, and his rulings, teachings, and commandments! And so, the teacher becomes a grave digger, pursued by those to burn the cursed treasure and others seeking the inheritance of their holy master. He insists on his treasure, seeing in it a national wealth, exploring behind it regions submerged in darkness from the history of the most dangerous sect known in the medieval era. The journey of conflicting emotions begins: the joy of the discoverer deciphering the mysteries of the psalms, and the terror of the fleeing man, with hashish smokers and police in pursuit. It is a novel about digging into the history of a sectarian group woven around stories that sometimes bordered on legend, especially the figure of its founder Hassan al-Sabbah, the steadfast at the "Alamut" fortress, who planned to spread his doctrine with the power of his eloquence and the zeal of his trained assassins. The movement ended long ago, but the novel announces the resurrection of the Hashashins, recalling the eras of sectarian wars, and delves with artistic eyes into the past, reuniting chapters of a history extending over a thousand years, connecting the past with the present, revealing the main reasons for the absence of the renaissance of the East.
