Simplified Interpretation
Published by the King Fahd Complex
Size: 16*11.5 cm
Summary: Enlarged and revised edition
There was a pressing need in this era to produce a concise interpretation that considers the principles and sources of tafsir based on the methodology of the righteous predecessors, to ensure its clarity and reassurance for the hearts, and to foster trust. The interpretation is presented in brief, simple language to clarify the meanings of the Qur'an, its objectives, and to reveal the connotations of words and structures that are often overlooked by the general public.
A distinguished group of renowned tafsir scholars, known for their knowledge and competence, was selected to develop the first edition, adhering to important criteria, including:
First: Interpreting the verses according to the creed of the righteous predecessors.
Second: Presenting the authentic narrations of tafsir over other sources.
Third: Limiting narration to the correct or most likely sayings.
Fourth: Highlighting the Qur'anic guidance and the objectives of Sharia through the tafsir.
Fifth: Using concise, easy language with explanations of unfamiliar words during tafsir.
Sixth: The interpreter should understand the meaning equivalent to the verse and avoid adding extra content from other verses, so that each verse is explained in its proper context.
Seventh: Presenting the meaning of the verse directly, unless necessary to mention additional information.
Eighth: The tafsir should be based on the narration of Hafs from Asim.
Ninth: Avoid mentioning different readings, grammatical issues, morphology, syntax, or rhetoric.
Tenth: Interpret each verse separately; sometimes the meanings of two or more verses may be combined if their meanings are connected. The words of the Qur'anic text are not repeated unless necessary. The verse number is mentioned at the beginning of each tafsir.
Eleven: The tafsir should fit within the margin of the Madinah Mushaf.
Twelve: The interpreter should consider that this tafsir will be translated into various languages and avoid mentioning terms that are difficult to translate.
