Sodium Feteet (liquid)

Description: Sodium Fitate is the sodium salt of phytic acid, which is a cyclic saturated acid. Phytic acid is abundant in plant tissues, especially bran and seeds, where it acts as a main storage form of phosphorus. Sodium Fitate is a natural chelating agent that can be used as an alternative to disodium and tetrasodium EDTA in cosmetics. It will help prevent unwanted metal-catalyzed reactions, thus stabilizing cosmetics. It may help prevent discoloration and rancidity caused by metals present in formulations and works synergistically with other antioxidants. Chelating agents are usually added to cosmetics to act as preservatives, as microorganisms need trace metals to maintain cell wall integrity and survive. Chelating agents bind to these metals, making them unavailable to bacteria, thereby weakening the bacteria and allowing cosmetic preservatives to work more effectively. EDTA is usually added to cosmetics for this purpose, and sodium fitate should have a similar function. Soluble in water, insoluble in oil. Application: Typical concentration 0.05 - 0.5%. For external use only. Please note: Add to the aqueous phase of any formulation. Not suitable for anhydrous formulations (all oils). Heat-insensitive, can be added to the water phase before heating. Adjust the pH of the formula to 6.0 or lower.
