Squalene extracted from olive oil is a more stable form than squalene extracted from olive oil, as it has undergone hydrogenation to become non-oxidized. It is an excellent moisturizer. Squalene is abundant in the natural sebum of the skin. It is a hydrocarbon, which means its chemical structure is completely different from plant-derived carrier oils, and it closely resembles mineral oils. Squalene also gives products a better texture and improves the absorption of other ingredients into the skin. Squalene is most suitable for applications where a transparent, odorless product is highly desirable or for products that require greater stability and a longer shelf life. Squalene is a more economical alternative and perfectly suitable for products with shorter shelf lives where slight color and odor do not affect the final product. Botanical origin (olive).
