Rich comments on the fatwa of al-Hamaamah Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah authored by Dr. Ahmed bin Abdulrahman Al-Qadi The (Majestic Fatwa) of Abu al-Abbas Ibn Taymiyah, may Allah have mercy on him, is a foundational and affirming of the methodology of the righteous predecessors in the divine attributes — which are established by the report from the Book and the Sunnah, such as the throne, face, hands, and similar — as well as being a refutation and negation of those who deny these attributes from the theologians and the late Ash'arites who hold the corrupt interpretation. This fatwa also revealed part of Ibn Taymiyah's brilliance in good argumentation and discussion, as he refuted the words of late theologians — such as the Ash'arites who deny the highness and the divine attributes, whom he called the (Mu'tazila of the attributes). — with the words of their early predecessors.
