Swinnertons | Staffordshire, England
In the heart of Staffordshire, the land known since the 19th century as the cradle of fine English ceramics, this piece was produced bearing the signature Swinnertons, one of the historic names associated with precision, refined taste, and quality craftsmanship.
The stamp bears the name "Luxor Vellum," a name inspired by the velvety softness of ivory (Vellum), where the ceramic features a soft warm color and a subtle shine, as if it holds the glow of time within its layers.
This type of production was famous in the first half of the 20th century, when pieces were made to accompany elegant tea sessions, not for fleeting use but for remembrance.
The decorative drawings, carefully painted, reflect the romantic spirit of Europe: gardens, ladies in wide dresses, and soft colors harmonizing with gilded edges, as if each piece tells a scene from an era where details were the language of elegance.
