Product description

Author: Mashouh bin Abdul Rahman bin Saad Al Mashouh Edition: First Year: 1432 AH / 2011 AD The book discusses housing in the past, the building teacher's style and method of work, the parts of the house, types of food, the role of women in agriculture, medicine, and the currencies used at that time. The author says: When a house is to be built, the "Stad" (the contractor) plans the house on the land with his foot, drives stakes to define the rooms, digs the foundation, and estimates the number of bricks needed for construction as well as reeds. The author confirmed that women have a role in agriculture that often exceeds that of men. He said: The woman begins her work before dawn and continues until late at night. She is required before dawn to heat water in winter for ablution and to start preparing lunch, which is served after sunrise, and sometimes before it. Regarding trade in the past, the author said: Trade almost limited itself to the exchange of some basic goods such as grains, dates, livestock, coffee, cardamom, sugar, tea, salt, and farming tools, as well as specific types of fabrics, most notably a cotton cloth called Kham or Sahili, which men wear. After changing its color from white by dyeing it with pomegranate peels, women wear it.
