And the author was able, through reviewing the oldest manuscript in which the name Al-Deriyah appeared, written in the middle of the 9th Hijri century, which predates the oldest known source by more than a century, to prove that the town's emergence is much older than previously known. The author also made great efforts to identify the places and sites mentioned by historians that were the stage of events in Al-Deriyah, most of which are no longer known now, either due to name changes or because the elderly who knew their exact locations have passed away. This book serves as a bridge through which the reader can move from history books and the bygone past, most of whose traces have faded, to experiencing the events firsthand in the land of reality, stopping at each historical landmark, feeling most of the events that took place there.
