Shift can be defined as deviation from the prevailing pattern, provided that it results from the poet's creativity and not from ignorance of writing techniques. Although the term shift is modern, its concept is old, so we find in Arab heritage that the appearance of shift (rhythm) neglect is the reason that prompted the emergence of this study in an attempt to fill this gap.
