Mechanism of action of tamsulosin

• Tamsulosin is a medicine that works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to urinate.

Indications for use of Prosta Tab PR 0.4 mg tablets

• Improve symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
• Improves urine flow
• Reduces urinary tract symptoms such as difficulty starting urination, weak urine stream, and frequent urination.
• Relaxation of the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck
• Not used to treat prostate cancer or prevent prostate enlargement.

How to take Prosta Tab PR 0.4 mg tablets

• Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
• If you are not sure, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
• Your doctor will tell you how to use this medicine, depending on your condition and age.
• Take one tablet once daily, swallowed whole with water, do not crush or chew.
• Doses may change under certain circumstances, so always follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.
• If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital immediately.
• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose.
• Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a missed dose.

Unwanted side effects of Prosta Tab PR 0.4 mg tablets

• Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them but you may experience:

1. dizziness
2. headache
3. nausea
4. Male sexual dysfunction

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
