- It can also be used to treat dry eyes caused by contact lens use.
How to give Refresh Plus vials
- Eye preparations are usually sterile, so make sure the container is not damaged before use and also replace the cap after taking the dose (if using a single-use dose unit, discard the used unit after use)
- Tilt your head back slightly and look up.
- Pull your lower eyelid down.
- With your other hand, hold the dropper bottle upside down near your eye. Try not to touch your eye while doing this.
- Apply enough pressure to deliver one drop (or the contents of the vial) into your eye.
- Make sure the medicine gets into your eye.
- Close your eye for a minute or two, and gently press on the side of your nose. This prevents loss of eye drops and keeps the medicine where it should be.
- The recommended dosage is one or two drops (or vial) in the affected eye as needed.
- A higher dose may be prescribed in cases of severe dehydration.
- Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure how to use this medicine.
- Doses may change under certain circumstances, so always follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital immediately.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a missed dose.
