Mechanism of action of cefuroxime:

  • Cefuroxime is a cephalosporin. Like penicillin, it is a beta-lactam antibiotic. It works by binding to specific penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) present within the bacterial cell wall and thus inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis.
  • Without a cell wall, the bacterial cell is vulnerable to external water and molecular stresses, causing the cell to rapidly die.
  • Indications for use of Zenoximor 500 mg tablets
  • Cefuroxime is used to treat infections:
  • throat, sinuses, middle ear
  • lungs or chest
  • Urinary tract
  • Skin and soft tissue.
  • Cefuroxime can also be used to treat Lyme disease (an infection spread by parasites called ticks).

How to take Zenoximor 500 mg tablets:

  • Take cefuroxime after food. This will help make the treatment more effective.
  • The recommended dose of cefuroxime is 250 mg to 500 mg twice daily depending on the severity and type of infection.
  • Children: The recommended dose of cefuroxime is 10 mg/kg (maximum 125 mg) to 15 mg/kg (maximum 250 mg) twice daily depending on the severity and type of infection.
  • Cefuroxime is not recommended for use in children under 3 months of age, as its safety and effectiveness in this age group are not known.
  • Doses may change under special circumstances, so always follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.
  • If you take more than you should, talk to your doctor or go to the hospital immediately.
  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose.
