Product description
How does pantoprazole work?
The secretion of hydrochloric acid (HCl) into the gastric lumen is a process primarily regulated by the H(+)/K(+)-ATPase, known as the proton pump, and large quantities of it are present in the parietal cells of the stomach.
Proton pump inhibitors work by irreversibly blocking the hydrogen/potassium enzyme system, which inhibits the secretion of stomach acid.
Pantoprazole is a member of a class called proton pump inhibitors.
