Medical uses of Diflucan 150 mg capsule: Fluconazole is an antifungal medication used to treat infections caused by fungi. Infections caused by Candida yeast, and it is most commonly used for vaginal yeast infections. It is also used for fungal infections in the mouth, throat, urinary tract, reproductive organs, skin, nails, and internal infections. How to use Diflucan 150 mg capsule: This medication is intended for adults, and your doctor may prescribe it for a child if necessary. Take the medication as directed by your doctor. Take the medication with or without food with a full glass of water. For reproductive infections, the recommended dose is 150 mg as a single dose. In cases of mouth and throat infections, the recommended dose is 200 mg on the first day, followed by 100 mg once daily. For meningitis (brain swelling due to infection), the recommended dose is 400 mg on the first day, then 200 to 400 mg once daily. For internal fungal infections, the recommended doses are 800 mg on the first day, then 400 mg once daily. For fungal infections in the skin and nails, depending on the infection site, the recommended doses are 50 mg once daily, or 150 mg once weekly, or 300 to 400 mg once weekly. Doses may be changed in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor’s or pharmacist’s instructions.
