Air stone bubble ruler for fish tanks

One of the main reasons for placing a stone in the tank is if there is not much movement of the water. If you look at the water surface and it remains mostly still, it is likely that the water is not circulating enough. Air stones do not put oxygen directly into the water. What they do is increase the surface area so that more water comes into contact with the air at the top of the tank. This allows a larger volume of water to release carbon dioxide and absorb oxygen. The biggest benefit of the air stone is the amount of improvement in the circulation of the fish tank. The bubbles are particularly effective in lifting water near the substrate to the top of the tank. This is important because this water is not always circulated as it should be.
