Product description
If I lack the "stubbornness" in writing, I lack its value and purpose. Soothing writing is negative, descriptive, has no opinion, and therefore it only adds to the pile of writings that do nothing and say nothing except within those molds and formulas that are set for it, resulting in similar, identical writings that do not express their opinion except with that faint, pale voice that lacks the warmth of brilliance. Writing must exit the circle of stereotyping and packaging... into the circle of action, movement, and confrontation... to say: no to all negative phenomena, whether political, intellectual, cultural, or social. In this way, it has contributed to addressing the problems of the nation... and the writer has fulfilled some of his moral mission. But if the pains and concerns of the nation do not cause numbers, anxiety, or headaches for the writer, then when he writes, he is merely practicing a mental athletic activity, and writing becomes a kind of superficiality and bleeding. There is no harm in the writer practicing his mental athletic activity; but not far from the pain and suffering of the nation... otherwise, he practices selfishness, isolation, and individual benefit, embodying negativity and perpetuating sin against a nation drowning in the mud of hardships and crises. This was indeed reflected in the work of some writers on the Arab cultural scene and in its visual, audio, and written media, which is a real tragedy, lying in those writers who stand during the nation's crisis as schemers and watchers, shocking it with disloyalty, ingratitude, and denial, politically, intellectually, and culturally, pushing it toward more discouragement, frustration, and submission to all plots and forms of normalization, trivialization, and alienation! The Arab nation is passing through the worst stages of its decline in history, even racing against time in rapid regression, deterioration, and defeat on all levels. In light of all this, it was necessary for the conscious intellectual and honest writer to say something and to contribute sincerely for the homeland and to clear the conscience of the word and the conscience. From this perspective come Abdullah Muhammad Nasser's articles or what he called the writing stubbornness, which are nothing but expressions of his troubling obsessions that he managed to publish in the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadh under the title "In the Formal Language." These obsessions are in politics, thought, culture, society, and emotional concerns. As for the writer's purpose, it is not stubbornness itself, but to add his written concerns as a voice to those voices that say: no... in the face of that overwhelming danger that will be followed by destruction unlike any other, and will cause destruction unprecedented in its scope. If it occurs, God forbid, then blaming the blameworthy at that time will be useless, and the nation will also not benefit from cursing the inciters or normalization. Publisher's note: This book is a collection of stubborn articles by Abdullah Nasser in an attempt to ward off political decay and cultural trivialization that we witness in Arab journalism and satellite channels, which have taken it upon themselves to promote ignorance and illiteracy and erase original culture. These are obsessions in politics, thought, culture, and society, that anticipate catastrophe and try to say no in the face of an overwhelming danger that will be followed by destruction. If it occurs, blaming the blameworthy, cursing the inciters, and justifying normalization will be of no use. The author here screams, considering that neutrality and leaning towards complacency by the writer are positions of disdain and betrayal that contradict the morals of writing as a noble profession calling for justice, love, and the lifting of injustice.
