The hat and by God "Gassan Kanafani"

In the play, Ghassan Kanafani places the accusation on the judges once, and on the accused another time, and it extends to include the audience and perhaps everyone is accused of killing this thing that came from another world, and this thing is either a hat or a prophet. The accused admits to killing this thing by saying that we actually kill those we do not know. Ghassan Kanafani says about this play in one of his letters to Ghada Al-Samman: "And through this unprecedented crowd, I was overwhelmed as if I were epileptic, writing the play we talked about in the car one day, one night... I named it 'The story of the thing that came from space and met a bankrupt man.' And yesterday I suggested to myself another title: 'The Prophet and the Hat,' based on the idea that the hat covers the man's head from the outside, and the prophet covers him from the inside... I am still in doubt, but the play is going well. I am writing it for you."
