Product description
An amazing novel that shakes the reader and tells about a soldier living his last days in the military and wanting to return to his family in Tehran and leave the battlefield. But the enemy gets closer and closer and bombs with chemical materials and disrupts movement. During the soldier's return from the battlefield to the nearest city to reach the train station, he sees how the Iranian army is defeated, and the narrator depicts their retreat by placing the officers and soldiers' rifles in a truck and covering a long distance on foot without water or food, and some pass away halfway. The Iranian army guards do not pay attention to the soldier's license paper and try to stop him, but he escapes from them towards the train station and arrives there with difficulty. The soldier is forced to ride in a train contaminated with chemical materials and soldiers wounded with suppurating wounds, blood dripping from the door openings flowing onto the railway tracks. The scenes depicted by the narrator are neither connected nor coherent because he returns to the past as if in a daze, unaware of what he is saying, or as if he has been struck with madness after the tremors of explosions, and sometimes time slips away from him. The narrator paints the suffocating atmosphere leaking into the trenches: the people involved in the war, addiction, diseases, and sex, providing a clear picture of the brutality of war and the bitterness of defeat, far removed from patriotic slogans and empty propaganda. He focuses more on the human side than anything else and sympathizes with others.
