The eye tears, and the heart mourns

Indeed, the eye weeps and the heart fears after loss... You have changed as if a thin curtain has been lifted from my eyes, the world no longer as it was in my eyes, and my heart no longer as I knew it before. Loss has taught me that life is still fleeting, and that the most beautiful sources of strength are not for travel, nor for the future; but for the depth of the soul. I have begun to seek tranquility in drawing closer to God and in the meaning found in prostration, and in serenity in every act that pleases Him. The pain no longer frightens me, but has become a daily reminder that true remaining is "there," where there is no pain and no separation. Every day I live it is a new opportunity for me to make my steps more inclined towards Paradise, and to weigh my scales with what is worthy of meeting Him. Oh God, make us among those who long for You and work for Your meeting, and fill our hearts with certainty.
