And the book includes - apart from the sharp criticism directed at the President of the United States, Donald Trump - a social, cultural, political, and media critique in defense of reason and rationality against emotion and ignorance; an attempt to save the values of enlightenment and rationalism that are drowning in a sea of fanaticism and ideological frenzy. The author explains the philosophical and intellectual foundations on which our current culture is based, analyzing and criticizing them. Her critique of the populist current does not stem from a classist sense of superiority, but from a perspective of defending society against exploitation through various authoritarian forms. The book also contains a sharp critique directed at the internet in general and social media in particular... these platforms that have allowed populist mentalities to spread their words regarding precise specialization, to broadcast their vocabulary and disdain it with seriousness, embodying a retreat from noble action to hollow speech.
