Product description

This issue of your magazine (Arabian Magazine) goes to read the presence of the senses in the cultural context, from a general and shared perspective, not personal or individual; because individual behavior is linked to personal experience, without collectively expressing a collective perception. Today, we are in an era where the reasons have converged to make the visual sense take precedence over other human senses, this is the era of screens inhabited by sights, in a scene where the eye has become a shortcut to the idea of the senses that accompanied the human journey on this planet. Today, we do not smell the bread, but we see its redness as an appetizing sight, and the same applies when rain falls that revives the earth with the scent of water mixing with the soil, but we do not smell it.. and how much we invoke endless evidence of cases that prove the disabling of the senses in favor of one sense, sight, despite the rooted saying that links humans to the senses of smell and hearing; for the memory of fragrance and music are resistant to forgetfulness, and even capable of recalling the memories and situations attached to them. Today, humanity faces a major transformation process, heading towards the objectification of meanings, within the project of automating life and erasing human symbols, a context that was not planned but rather an automatic result produced by the digital civilization system surrounding human life from all directions, and this requires cultural and intellectual efforts aimed at digging into what has become, due to habituation, a normal matter rather than an exceptional one, such as what this issue discusses regarding re-reading the reality of forgotten senses in digital times. So welcome to the collective memory of all human senses, not just one sense.
