In the book "Anthology of Modern Persian Poetry (A Collection of Poets)" translated by Maryam Al-Attar and published by Al-Mada Foundation for Media, Culture, and Arts. The translator of the selections states that since the beginnings of modern Persian poetry, two important main forms have emerged: the Nimaic poetry (attributed to Nima Yushij), the poet, who is said to be the manifesto of modern poetry, while the second form (the Speed) or free verse, is a form free of meter and rhyme but has a clear internal rhythm. The book includes discussion and presentation of about 36 Iranian poets and poetesses, where specific excerpts from their poetic texts were selected and presented for study in terms of style and poetic technique, as well as some of their biographies.
