Product description
The third part of Naguib Mahfouz's famous trilogy, which many critics and literature specialists consider the best and most important Arabic novel. The events of this part take place between the mid-1930s and the early 1940s, and witness the greatest number of transformations in the life of Mr. Ahmed Abd El Gawad's family, where the heroes of the previous two parts recede into the background, either due to death or voluntary withdrawal from life, while the next generation takes the forefront after they became young men, each with their own desires and orientations. “Kamal” participates as the observer of the transformations, always immersed in contemplating humans and events. The novel was published in 1957 and was adapted into a film in 1973.
