A crime in the fog hard cover

Mr. Sears visits his friend in London, and upon his return, a thick fog forms preventing him from seeing, so he gets lost and decides to enter a house until the fog lifts. He saw a light coming from an open door of a house, so he entered it, but he found two bodies stabbed with a knife.. so what did he do?
