Book overview: The drumbeats increased and rose, and blood splattered everywhere. There was someone dancing, and another holding the neck of his decapitated horse, scattering blood around. The drumbeats grew louder in everyone's ears, even those in the island began to stick their heads out of the windows with curiosity and anticipation of what was happening. The drumbeats intensified and rose more and more, until they started to be heard in their minds as if they had become part of them. Suddenly, a scream echoed to the bones, then everything stopped. Their minds calmed, and their hearts, which were dancing with those terrifying drums, settled down. Everything ended with that scream. The tree turned to ash, and only bones remained from the corpse. Everything happened quickly. If there had been a man watching, he wouldn't have believed how fast it all happened! The woman left the circle, went to the edge of the island, looked down, and said: "He will die tomorrow!" She looked behind her and saw them all watching her, so she shouted: "Come on, let's leave this island; there's no place for us here after today."
