N in the Green Village Series 4 parts

Al Ktebert wanted to adopt a boy to help them with the farm work, but God's will sent them Anne Shirley; the thin girl with red hair who never stops talking. And despite the brothers Ktebert's annoyance and their confusion about what they should do with Anne, they found themselves enjoying her continuous chatter and poetic fantasies, and they quickly felt that it had become impossible for them to remember what the green highlands were like without her.
