Product description

The history teacher leaves the land of Africa at a scientific conference in Yemen, and finds in it an opportunity to meet one of the Batinis sheikhs and understand what was unclear to him from a treasure he found in an ancient grave. The shock from the buried secret is immense: it is the psalms of the Mountain Sheikh, the dweller of the eagle's nest, Hassan al-Sabbah, and his rulings, teachings, and commandments! And so the teacher becomes a grave digger, pursued by those to burn the cursed treasure and others seeking the inheritance of their holy master. He insists on his treasure, seeing in it a national wealth, exploring behind it regions submerged in darkness from the history of the most dangerous sect known in the medieval era. The journey of conflicting emotions begins: the thrill of the discoverer decoding the riddles and symbols of the psalms, and the terror of the fleeing man, pursued by drug dealers and police. It is a story of digging into the history of a sectarian group woven around stories that sometimes bordered on legend, especially the figure of its founder Hassan al-Sabbah, the steadfast at the fortress of Alamut, planning to spread his doctrine with the power of his eloquence and the zeal of his trained assassins. The movement ended long ago, but the story announces the resurrection of the Assassins and recalls the times of sectarian wars, delving artistically to reweave chapters of a thousand-year-old history, connecting the past with the present, revealing the main reasons for the absence of the Renaissance in the East.
