Stand mode for A329S series supports the HK6 hardwire cable for hybrid stand mode for A329S series, where it automatically switches between normal parking recording and low-power shock detection mode based on the "cut-off voltage" and "cut-off time" settings. *To ensure proper operation, we recommend setting the "cut-off voltage" slightly above the value on the wired connection cable. Configurable voltage cut-off The VIOFO HK6 direct connection cable offers four options for disconnecting power. When the car battery voltage drops to the set limit, the HK6 cable stops powering the dashboard camera, helping to prevent battery drain. Very low power consumption The HK6 direct connection cable consumes very low power (≤300 microamps) when the dashboard camera is off, ensuring extended monitoring while parked without significantly draining the car battery. When paired with the A329S series, the low-power shock detection mode continues to monitor your vehicle with minimal power consumption: standby/sleep mode: only 0.24 watts (20 milliamps at 12 volts). *Test data based on A329S 3-channel versions. It accepts voltage from any vehicle operating at 12-24 volts. Typical fuse question Is a fuse cable needed or can I use the older HK4 cable with the A329S version? The HK4 device is compatible with the A329S for basic parking modes (automatic event detection, time-lapse, low bitrate) and cut-off protection. However, the hybrid parking mode, cut-off voltage protection, and Bluetooth battery voltage display require the HK6 device. If you want a full parking experience with the A329S, the HK6 device is the recommended upgrade. What type of fuse connection should I choose? The HK6 device comes with a complete set of 8 pieces covering all types. Check your car’s fuse box to identify the fuse type used — most modern cars use MINI or Low Profile fuses. If unsure, don’t worry; the set includes all types, ensuring you get the right fuse. Is professional installation required? The HK6 device can be installed DIY with simple tools. It connects to your car’s fuse box using the included fuse tap adapter — no need to cut any wires. You will need to identify the constant power fuse (always on) and a ground point. Many tutorials on YouTube and the official VIOFO installation guide explain the process step-by-step. If you’re uncomfortable working with your car’s fuse box, any automotive electronics workshop can install it within 30 to 60 minutes. What is the purpose of the physical slide switch on the HK6 device? The side slide switch on the HK6 activates a maximum power cut-off limit on the device as a basic safety measure. If the battery level drops below this limit, the HK6 device will actually disconnect power regardless of software settings. Important: set this switch to the lowest voltage option, then use the "power cut-off" setting in the VIOFO app for precise control. If the device’s switch setting is higher than the software setting, the device will cut power first. Does the HK6 cable work with 24V truck systems? Yes. The HK6 accepts input voltage between 12V and 24V, making it compatible with cars, trucks, SUVs, buses, and commercial vehicles. The voltage protection and Bluetooth monitoring features operate across the entire input voltage range. How does the real-time battery voltage display work? The HK6 uses a continuous Bluetooth technology to constantly transmit the vehicle battery voltage to the A329S dashboard camera. The camera automatically detects the signal, reads the voltage, and displays it on the recorded video.
