Summary: I hesitated many times before starting this book for several reasons, most importantly the sensitivity of a son writing about his father, and the dominance of emotion and personal interests in such situations. However, when visitors began coming to the father's house in Al-Riyadh neighborhood after his passing to offer condolences, many stories about the father’s students, colleagues, peers, and neighbors were shared with us. Each person who offered condolences recounted a situation they experienced with the father. I consulted with some brothers and colleagues to record these stories and narrations and present them in the form of a book that serves as a lesson and a moral, a gift from the predecessor to the successor. As the saying goes: "Remember the good qualities of your dead and refrain from their faults."
Some of these stories carried educational morals, or teaching moments, or religious lessons, or worldly wisdom. I received encouragement and enthusiasm from them, so I began communicating with those who shared these stories and situations to organize and narrate them exactly as they happened, without addition or omission. Despite the difficulty and hardship of this task, as some events took place over sixty years ago, requiring a great effort of memory and recalling a long period of time, the determination and enthusiasm of the father’s students and colleagues did not allow them to ignore this important request. They participated in recounting these moments and preserving them through proper documentation and editing, so they could serve as lessons from which we derive wisdom and insight, and as rulings passed down from the predecessors to the successors, and narrated by the latter to those who follow. We are enlightened by their wisdom and lessons, and learn from their advice, guidance, and teachings.
I pray to Allah to bless this work, benefit from it, and make it a source of inspiration for those eager to learn about the father’s educational and social life. May it serve as an authentic reference for his biography and an enjoyable reading experience for the readers. As the saying goes: "You only need what surrounds the neck." I also pray to the Almighty to make this a form of cooperation in righteousness and piety, and to preserve the rights of the parents and the trust they placed in us. May it also be among the acts of goodness included in the saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him): "When the son of Adam dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him."
