Ashjan without Shores - a poetry collection authored by Hassan Kamal Muhammad Muhammad Binding: Cover Volumes: One Paper: Shamua Size: 14 × 21 Summary: Man advances materially and technically, but he still needs a lush oasis with abundant shade in which to wash away the dirt of his past, the suffering of his present, and the worries of his future. He can only reach that in reciting the words of his Lord, the Almighty, or reading the Sunnah of His Messenger, peace be upon him, or in a joyful poem. And whoever misses out on these three sources of nourishment misses all goodness. The evidence for this is what was narrated about Sufyan ibn Uyaynah (107-198 AH), when his nephew came to propose to his daughter, and he said: a worthy noble, then he said: sit, so he sat, and he said: O my son, read ten verses from the Quran, but he could not, then he said: tell ten hadiths, but he could not, then he said: bring ten lines of poetry, but he could not, so he said: no Quran, no hadith, no poetry. So where should I put my daughter with you? I will not disappoint you; take four thousand dirhams, and leave the girl. And since poetry holds that place after the two revelations, it has often been equated with magic. Here is the Messenger, peace be upon him, accused of being a magician or poet: "Indeed, this is clear magic" and "But he is a poet." Both poetry and magic achieve great psychological impact and massive gathering. Hence, the seduction of the poet and the magician is purely linguistic, relying more on language than movement; that is, poetry is magic, but a lawful magic. That is why the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Indeed, some of the speech is magic, and some of the poetry is wisdom." (Agreed upon). This collection came to convey a set of sorrows that have possessed the soul, taking the fullest share of lawful magic, as it contains religious, political, social, and emotional themes... These are the realities of life, indeed, they are life itself. But before me is a collection overflowing with sorrows.
