Lahore - Short stories by: Dr. Salman bin Muhammad bin Saeed Al-Tajleed: Cover: Cover: parts: one paper: Shamooh size: 14 × 21 summary: This book in the canteen (i.e., club) of Saudi students in Lahore; there was talk and dialogue in which the participants from boys and girls enthusiastically praised a person named Abu Suleiman; I heard parts of it from a place not far in the canteen; and each of them narrates a different experience with that man; so I moved to the place where the discussion was; and when I inquired about who was being talked about, one of the colleagues responded; and he had just returned from Afghanistan; We are talking about a noble man nicknamed: (Abu Suleiman) Muhammad ibn Hammad Al-Shibali, the ambassador of the Kingdom in Afghanistan; I was attracted by what I heard about praise and commendation, so I wanted to go to Kabul to meet that legendary man in generosity and good manners (Abu Suleiman), and the mid-year vacation was approaching; so I proposed the matter to two close colleagues: Omar and the stage of study, and they are Hamad and Abdulaziz, and they agreed; rather, they were as enthusiastic as I was to visit Kabul; and see the Saudi ambassador up close; and the city of Peshawar bordering Afghanistan, which is far from Lahore, much like Jeddah from Riyadh; so the three of us took a bus that took us to Peshawar bordering Afghanistan; on a road full of greenery like Lahore’s nature, and villages on both sides, alive and bustling with activity; they herd cattle and other livestock; and the marks of God's blessing on their faces, and their gratitude and praise for it; I remembered the words of the people of Sheba to their Lord: (Our Lord, make our travels distant); the road has no flat plains, or barren deserts, or wastelands; rather, as far as the eye can see, many men and women are planting and harvesting happily and peacefully; on fertile land on both sides of the asphalt road; I was amazed at those mentioned in the Noble Qur'an; who wanted to replace what is lesser with what is better. And it is a trivial matter: the trilogy I mean is: Nour’s wound. and the doctor’s moments. and Lahore. In it, I talk about my autobiography; and in front of the dear reader, the third edition (Lahore), which is a Pakistani city, where I studied medicine; I was supposed to stay there for seven years; an extra year or so was added due to political disturbances and unrest during the rule of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto; which was ended by General Zia-ul-Haq’s coup in 1977 AD of the last century; security was restored, and studies resumed; and during the curfew (curfew), when I wanted to leave the student housing (hostel), I would ride my small motorcycle, the red one (Kharinag), and take the cultural attaché’s permission slip for wandering with the passport; to show it to any soldier who might stop me, and point his gun at me; and I would tell him: (Saudi Arab), and he would allow me to pass during the curfew.
