Semi-quantitative finger-prick blood sample rapid test for self-testing BIOZEK Vitamin D rapid test is a rapid chromatographic test for semi-quantitative detection of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) in the blood By taking a blood sample from an adult by pricking a finger. This test provides a preliminary diagnostic result and can be used to detect vitamin D deficiency.

Instructions for use:

• Vitamin D deficiency is a global health problem caused mainly by insufficient exposure to sunlight. It is estimated that there are one billion people suffering from a deficiency or insufficient vitamin D in the body around the world, especially among the elderly.
• Vitamin D refers to a group of fat-soluble secosteroids responsible for increasing intestinal absorption of calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphate and zinc. The most important compounds of this group in humans are vitamin D3 and vitamin D2
• Vitamin D3 is produced naturally in human skin through exposure to ultraviolet radiation and Vitamin D2 is obtained primarily from foods. Vitamin D is transported to the liver where it is metabolized into 25-hydroxyvitamin D.

1. Wash your hands with soap and rinse them with clear, warm water.
2. Place the test kit at room temperature before opening it.
3. Open the package, take out the test strip, and place it on a clean, flat surface.
4. Perform the test within one hour. The best result will be obtained if the test is performed immediately after opening the strip bag.
5. Remove the capillary dropper, buffer, lancet, and alcohol swab and place them near the test strip.
6. Pull the cap freed from the sterile needle and dispose of it carefully.
7. Use the alcohol swab provided to clean the tip of your middle or ring finger as the piercing site. Then leave the site to air dry.
8. Press the needle on the side where the cap was removed, and the tip will retract automatically and safely after use. Massage the hand without touching the piercing site by massaging the hand towards the tip of the finger
9. Keep the hand facing down to massage the finger to get a drop of blood.
10. Without pressing the bulb of the capillary dropper, position it so that it is in contact with the blood. Allow the blood to move into the capillary dropper through the capillary to the black fill line indicated on the capillary dropper.
11. You can massage your finger again to get more blood if the blood does not reach the fill line indicated in black. Avoid air bubbles.
12. Release all of the collected blood into the strip sample container, by pressing the dropper bulb.
13. Wait until the blood has completely drained into the sample container. Unscrew the cap of the buffer solution vial and add two drops of solution into the buffer container of the strip and start the timer.
14. Wait for the colored line(s) to appear.
15. Read results in 10 minutes. Compare the density of the T line with that on the “BIOZEK Vitamin D Color Card” provided with the test kit to find out the level of Vitamin D in your blood.
16. Do not interpret the result after 20 minutes.

• Store in a dry place between 2-30°C (36-86°F), avoiding areas with excessive humidity.
• If the foil packaging is damaged or opened, please do not use the test kit.
• This test kit is intended for use as an initial test only and if abnormal results occur frequently, they should be discussed with your doctor or medical professional.
• Commit to strictly following the set time.
• Use the test strip only once. Do not disassemble or touch the test window of the test strip.
• The test kit must not be frozen or used after the expiry date printed on the package.
