Exam and credential pathway
The exam evaluates ISMS principles and requirements, implementation planning and execution, monitoring, continual improvement and preparation for a certification audit.
A successful exam result allows the candidate to apply for the applicable PECB ISO/IEC 27001 Implementer credential. PECB lists provisional, implementer, lead and senior tiers, each with its own experience and project-activity requirements.
Course completion, examination success, certification application and credential issuance are separate stages; the credential is not issued automatically.
