Exam and credential pathway

The exam evaluates laboratory-management principles, implementation planning and execution, performance evaluation, continual improvement and preparation for accreditation.

Passing the exam allows application for an eligible PECB ISO/IEC 17025 Implementer credential. The PECB personnel credential is separate from a laboratory's accreditation decision, which is made through the applicable accreditation process.

Course completion, examination success, certification application and credential issuance are separate stages; the credential is not issued automatically.

The 12-month period for the first examination, included free retake and certification application begins on the purchase date.
