The virtue of contributing to the Ramadan Sacrifice in the Quran and Sunnah: First: Evidence from the Holy Quran: “And establish prayer and give zakat and lend Allah a goodly loan, and whatever good you send before you for yourselves—you will find it with Allah. It is better and greater in reward” (Surah Al-Muzzammil: 43). “The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains” (Al-Baqarah: 261). Allah says: “Who is it that will loan Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over?” (Al-Baqarah: 245). “And whatever good you give, Allah will replace it” (Surah Saba: 39). “As for one who gives and fears Allah and believes in the good [reward], We will ease him toward ease” (Surah Al-Lail: 5-7). And Allah the Almighty says: “Indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good” (Surah Al-A’raf: 56). Second: Evidence from the Sunnah of the Prophet: 1. From Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet ﷺ was the most generous of people, and he was most generous during Ramadan when Jibreel (Gabriel) met him, and he was more generous in goodness than the rushing wind” – agreed upon (Al-Bukhari and Muslim). 2. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever feeds a fasting person, it will be for him the same reward, without that diminishing the reward of the fasting person” – narrated by Tirmidhi. 3. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Charity is proof” – narrated by Muslim. 4. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the world, Allah will relieve him of a distress of the Day of Resurrection” – narrated by Muslim. 5. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Charity does not decrease wealth” – narrated by Muslim. 6. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Every person is under the shade of his charity until judgment is passed among people” – narrated by Ibn Khuzaima and authenticated by Al-Albani. 7. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Fear the fire, even with half a date” – agreed upon. 8. The Prophet ﷺ said: “There are two angels who descend every morning and evening, one says: O Allah, give to the one who spends, a replacement, and the other says: O Allah, destroy the one who withholds” – agreed upon. 9. The Prophet ﷺ said: “And whoever is generous in charity, he will be called from the door of charity” – agreed upon. 10. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Spend, O son of Adam, and I will spend on you” – agreed upon. 11. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever among you today is fasting, and whoever follows a funeral today, and whoever feeds a needy today, and whoever visits a sick today, all of these will enter Paradise” – narrated by Muslim.
