BURDIZZO CASTRATOR – SMALL SIZE Small size Burdizzo castrator for young sheep and goats A manual castration tool used to castrate young sheep and goats without surgery and without cutting, by crushing the spermatic cord and stopping blood supply to the testicles, leading to their gradual atrophy. Use Castrate young sheep and goats in a relatively safe manner when used correctly. Suitable for breeders and veterinarians in herd management programs and reproductive control. Method of operation Identify the spermatic cord for each testicle separately. Close the Burdizzo tool tightly for 5–10 seconds on each side. Prevents blood flow without causing an external wound. Suitable ages Best: from 2 to 6 weeks. Acceptable: up to 8 weeks if the size is appropriate. Not recommended: after 10–12 weeks due to increased pain and risk of testicular failure. Expected results Blood flow stops immediately after application. Testicle atrophy: within 1–3 weeks. Almost complete shrinkage: within 3–6 weeks. External descent of the testicles does not occur (unlike Ruhl). Features No surgery and no bleeding. Reduces infection risk compared to cutting. Made of durable metal for repeated use. Small size suitable for young animals. Important warnings Ensure not to crush both cords together in one press. Incorrect use may lead to testicular failure or severe pain.
