FLORSAV 50 ML Description FLORSAV is an veterinary injection solution containing Florfenicol, used in cattle and sheep to treat and control respiratory infections caused by bacteria sensitive to Florfenicol, and used therapeutically and prophylactically (Metaphylaxis) depending on the case. Composition Each 1 ml contains: Florfenicol 300 mg Form Injection solution. Target animals Cattle Sheep Indications for use Cattle: Diseases caused by bacteria sensitive to Florfenicol. Therapeutic and prophylactic treatment of respiratory infections. Sheep: Treatment of respiratory infections in sheep. Method of administration For treatment: Cattle: Intramuscular or subcutaneous injection. Sheep: Intramuscular injection. For prevention (Metaphylaxis): Cattle: Subcutaneous injection. The maximum volume per injection site should not be exceeded: Cattle: 10 ml Sheep: 4 ml For more information, read the package insert. Doses Cattle (treatment): Intramuscular injection: 20 mg/kg live weight (equivalent to 1 ml per 15 kg) Administered twice with a 48-hour interval. Subcutaneous injection: 40 mg/kg live weight (equivalent to 2 ml per 15 kg) Single dose. Sheep (treatment): Intramuscular injection: 20 mg/kg live weight (1 ml per 15 kg) Daily for 3 consecutive days. Cattle (prevention – Metaphylaxis): Subcutaneous injection: 40 mg/kg live weight (2 ml per 15 kg) Single dose only. Withdrawal periods Meat and offal: Cattle: IM use (20 mg/kg bw, twice): 30 days SC use (40 mg/kg bw, once): 44 days Sheep: 39 days Milk: Not authorized for use in animals producing milk for human consumption. Warnings It is prohibited to use in bulls and rams intended for reproduction. Prohibited in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any excipients. May cause a temporary decrease in feed intake or softening of the stool. Local reactions at the injection site may occur and will gradually resolve. Do not mix with other veterinary drugs in the same syringe. Storage Keep out of reach and sight of children. Do not store above 30°C. Do not refrigerate – keep away from freezing.
