PRAZITEL 230/20 mg TABLETS FOR CATS Oral veterinary tablets with a palatable flavor, broad spectrum, used to treat mixed internal worms in cats, including roundworms and tapeworms. Composition (per tablet) Pyrantel embonate: 230 mg Praziquantel: 20 mg Indications Treatment of mixed infections with the following worms in cats: Roundworms: Toxocara cati Toxascaris leonina Tapeworms: Dipylidium caninum Taenia taeniaeformis Echinococcus multilocularis Dosage and Administration Method of administration: oral, single dose. The tablet can be given directly to the cat or mixed with food if needed. The tablet can be divided into two equal halves. Dosage schedule according to the cat’s weight: Weight (kg) | Dose 1 – 2 | ½ tablet 2.1 – 4 | 1 tablet 4.1 – 6 | ½ – 1 tablet 6.1 – 8 | 2 tablets General formula: one tablet for every 4 kg of body weight. Important treatment notes: In cases of roundworm infection, especially in young cats, complete elimination of the infection may not occur with a single dose. It is recommended to repeat the treatment every 14 days until 2–3 weeks after weaning. If symptoms persist, consult a veterinarian. Contraindications Not used with medications containing Piperazine. Not used in male cats less than 6 weeks old. Not used in cases with known hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients or excipients. Warnings and Precautions Not used during pregnancy, but can be used during lactation. Using doses higher than 5 times the recommended dose may cause intolerance symptoms such as vomiting. Repeated and intensive use may lead to parasite resistance to some anti-worm medications. In cases of tapeworm infection, flea control is necessary as they are intermediate hosts; otherwise, infection will recur. Echinococcosis poses a risk to humans and is subject to special official procedures. Side Effects Very rare. In rare cases, may show: Vomiting Digestive disturbances Ataxia or muscle tremors If any other symptoms appear, notify the veterinarian. User Precautions Wash hands after administering the medication or mixing it with food. In case of accidental ingestion by humans, consult a doctor and show the leaflet. Withdrawal Period Not applicable (pets). Storage Keep below 30°C. Do not use after the expiration date printed on the package. Dispose of unused half tablets. Keep out of reach of children.
