OXYKEL 20 LA 50 ML Description OXYKEL 20 LA is a long-acting veterinary injection solution containing Oxytetracycline, used to treat bacterial infections sensitive to Oxytetracycline in camels, cattle, sheep, and goats, especially respiratory infections, foot infections, otitis media, and some cases of infectious abortion. Composition Each 1 ml contains: Oxytetracycline hydrochloride equivalent to oxytetracycline 200 mg Excipients up to 1 ml Pharmaceutical form Injection solution (light yellowish to light brown color) Target animals Camels Cattle Sheep Goats Indications Treatment of bacterial infections sensitive to Oxytetracycline, including: Respiratory infections Foot infections Otitis media Enzootic abortion (Chlamydiosis) Method of administration Administer by: Deep intramuscular injection Or slow intravenous injection when a high blood concentration is needed Read the leaflet before use. Doses Camels – Cattle – Sheep – Goats: 1 ml Oxykel 20 LA per 10 kg of body weight (Equivalent to 20 mg oxytetracycline / kg body weight) The dose can be repeated after 3 days if necessary When giving a second dose, do not use the same injection site Do not inject more than 25 ml at one site, and divide the dose over multiple sites Withdrawal periods Meat: 28 days Milk: 7 days Contraindications and warnings Do not use in animals sensitive to tetracyclines. Do not use in cases of renal or hepatic failure. Not for use in horses, dogs, or cats. Do not mix with other solutions or solutions containing calcium salts. Rapid intravenous injection may cause cardiac collapse and arrhythmias. Do not exceed the dose in pregnant animals. Storage Store below 25°C. Keep away from light.
