Zovirax 5% cream 2 grams

Product description: Zovirax cream is used to treat skin infection of the herpes simplex virus including primary and recurrent genital herpes and cold sores. Do not use in the eye. Zovirax cream is a medicine used to treat symptoms of cold sores (herpes labialis) and genital herpes. Acyclovir cream can be used alone or with other medicines. Zovirax cream belongs to a class of medicines called antivirals. It is not known if acyclovir cream is safe and effective in children under 12 years old. Usage instructions: Zovirax cream should be used 5 times a day for 4 days. Treatment should start as soon as possible after signs or symptoms of cold sores appear, i.e., during the prodrome or when lesions appear. For teenagers aged 12 and above, the dose is the same as for adults. Use the cream for at least 5 days. If the genital herpes ulcer has not healed by then, you can continue using the cream for another 5 days. If the affected area has not healed after a total of 10 days, stop using the cream and inform your doctor. Warnings and precautions: Zovirax cream is not recommended for use on mucous membranes such as the mouth, eye, or vagina because it may be irritating. Special care should be taken to avoid accidental entry into the eye. In patients with severe immunodeficiency (e.g., AIDS patients or bone marrow transplant recipients), acyclovir doses should be taken orally. These patients should be encouraged to consult a doctor regarding treatment of any infection. Zovirax cream contains a specially formulated base and should not be diluted or used as a base for other medications. Excipients: Cetostearyl alcohol excipient may cause local skin reactions (such as contact dermatitis). This medicine contains 400 mg of propylene glycol per gram of product. Propylene glycol may cause skin irritation. Do not use this medicine on newborns with open wounds or large areas of broken or damaged skin (such as burns). This medicine contains 7.5 mg of sodium lauryl sulfate per gram of product. Sodium lauryl sulfate may cause local skin reactions (such as stinging or burning sensation) or increase skin reactions caused by other products when applied to the same area.
