Fusidic acid 20 mg/gram ointment* Why use fusidic acid: It is used to treat certain types of skin infections caused by bacteria such as impetigo (sores and scabs), wounds, and infected burns. Do not use fusidic acid: • If you are allergic to the active ingredients or any other components of this medication. Precautions and warnings: • Be cautious when using this medication near your eyes. • Do not use for a long period. A second infection may occur. Possible side effects: Stop using this product and seek medical attention immediately if you experience a rash; itching; red or sore or peeling skin; chest or throat tightness; difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat. The frequency of these side effects is unknown. Side effects may include: • Mild skin irritation • Rash • Eczema Other medications and fusidic acid: • Inform your doctor about all medications you are taking. How to use fusidic acid: • For external use only. • Use this medication as directed by your doctor. • Wash your hands before use. • Apply 2–3 times daily. How to store fusidic acid: • Store at room temperature between 68 to 77°F (20 to 25°C). • Keep this medication out of reach of children. • Do not use this medication after the expiration date printed on the package. *The form and method of administration of fusidic acid 20 mg/gram ointment should be prescribed according to the indication and severity of the disease for each patient individually.
