Amoxicillin capsules 500 mg Why use amoxicillin capsules? Amoxicillin is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria in different parts of the body. It can also be used in combination with other medicines to treat stomach ulcers. Do not take amoxicillin capsules: • If you are allergic to amoxicillin or penicillin or any other ingredients of this medicine • If you have any allergic reaction to any antibiotic Precautions and warnings: Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking amoxicillin capsules if: • You have glandular fever (fever, sore throat, swollen glands, and severe fatigue) • You have kidney problems • You do not urinate regularly. Possible side effects: Stop taking amoxicillin capsules and see a doctor immediately if you notice any of the following serious side effects — you may need urgent medical treatment: • Allergic reaction. • Rash or the appearance of round flat red spots under the skin or skin bruising. • A delayed allergic reaction can occur usually after 7 to 12 days of taking the capsules. • Skin reaction. • Similar symptoms. • Fever, chills, sore throat, or other signs of infection. Other medicines and amoxicillin capsules: Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines. • If you are taking allopurinol • If you are taking probenecid • If you are taking medicines to help stop blood clotting • If you are taking other antibiotics • If you are taking methotrexate How to take amoxicillin capsules: The usual dose of amoxicillin capsules is 250 mg to 500 mg three times a day or 750 mg to 1 gram every 12 hours, depending on the severity and type of infection. How to store amoxicillin capsules: How to store amoxicillin capsules: Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Store in the original packaging at a temperature below 30°C. Do not use this medicine if you notice obvious signs of spoilage.
