Gaviscon Advance for heartburn - mint flavor - 300 ml What is the use of Gaviscon Advance: Gaviscon syrup is used to treat symptoms caused by acid reflux of bile and pepsin into the esophagus such as acid regurgitation, heartburn, indigestion, for example after meals or during pregnancy, and for symptoms of excess stomach acid (hyperacidity). Gaviscon syrup can also be used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux during treatment or after withdrawal of acid-suppressing therapy. Do not take Gaviscon Advance: - Hypersensitivity to sodium alginate, sodium bicarbonate, potassium carbonate, or hydroxybenzoate esters (parabens). - Hypersensitivity to methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate. Warnings and precautions: Gaviscon for heartburn contains a high amount of sodium. This should be considered especially for those following a low-salt diet (for example in some cases of congestive heart failure and kidney weakness). Be cautious if you have kidney impairment or if you are on a potassium-controlled diet. Be cautious if you have hypercalcemia, renal calcification, or recurrent calcium stones. Taking this product may mask symptoms of other more serious underlying medical conditions. Contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218) and propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed). Possible side effects: - Constipation - Allergic reactions - High blood pressure Other medicines and Gaviscon Advance: Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are taking, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. A two-hour interval should be observed between taking this product and other medicinal products, especially: - H2 antihistamines (cimetidine, famotidine, nizatidine, ranitidine) - Tetracyclines (doxycycline, minocycline) - Digoxin - Fluoroquinolones (ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, moxifloxacin) - Iron salts - Thyroid hormones (levothyroxine) - Ketoconazole - Beta blockers (atenolol, metoprolol, propranolol) How to take Gaviscon Advance: Adults and children over 12 years: 5-10 ml after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day. How to store Gaviscon Advance: Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children. Do not store above 30°C.
