Product description

Since its original release in 1997, Native has been the mainstay of the Spyderco product line and a pioneer in the American-made knife collection. The design has steadily evolved over the years, reaching its current state in 2012 with the release of Native5. The latest addition to the Native series is Native5 Lightweight, which combines the engineering improvements of Native5 and the weight-saving features provided by the injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) handle. Native5 is proudly made in our factory in Golden, Colorado, and features a fine pointed blade made of premium CPM S30V stainless steel. Its fully flat grind, distal taper, index finger and thumb ramp, and simple swedge collectively provide a distinctive appearance, excellent edge geometry, and point utility. The blade is supported by a high-precision back lock mechanism that takes the time-tested lock design and elevates it to a new level of engineering and manufacturing excellence. The handle, made of unlined FRN, has a dual-directional texture for a very secure grip and reduces the overall weight of the knife to just 2.5 ounces. The handle also features four sets of molded-in threaded inserts directly into the FRN. These allow for the placement of the improved hourglass clip for carry on the left or right side or from below. The large-sized lanyard hole also provides a useful attachment point for cords, chains, and safety lines. An advanced evolution of a noble design, Native5 Lightweight is an incredibly capable pocket-sized cutting tool and a shining example of Spyderco’s commitment to continually making our best products better.
