Product description

The famous SLIPIT™ knives from Spyderco are non-locking folders that combine the advantages of one-handed opening and pocket clip carry with the legal pass of the non-locking mechanism. The Urban™ Lightweight was originally released in 2009 and later discontinued, embodying all the best qualities of the SLIPIT concept and combining them with the weight-saving benefits provided by the fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) injection-molded handle. Its blade is made from premium Böhler-Uddeholm N690Co steel, a high-performance stainless steel alloyed with cobalt, molybdenum, and vanadium. Its fully flat shape and leaf-shaped side profile provide exceptional balance of strength, low-friction cutting performance, and point utility. The prominent thumb ramp helps prevent accidental closure of the blade, while the Spyderco's Round Hole™ ensures positive one-handed opening with both hands. The lightweight textured FRN handle scales are mounted on the solid steel back spacer, which provides structural strength and acts as a spring for the non-locking pivot mechanism. The handle also features a reversible deep-pocket wire clip that allows for carry on the left or right side and keeps the knife securely positioned low in the pocket for a discreet and socially friendly appearance.
